Bayer MaterialScience to establish global wind energy competence center in Denmark
Bayer MaterialScience plans to establish a global wind energy competence and development center at its existing site in Otterup, Denmark.

Denmark was chosen for the location of the center because of the country’s expertise in the area of wind power and its leading position in energy efficiency. According to data by the Danish Wind Industry Association (DWIA) wind power to date already accounts for more than 20 percent of the total power consumption in Denmark.

Decreasing energy consumption in houses
Bayer MaterialScience in Otterup, Denmark, has helped develop a new unique insulation solution that not only decreases the energy consumption in buildings considerably, but also lowers the price of a house while increasing the living space.

Per Knut and Mjøsplast have already constructed an industrial warehouse using the P-Element system and is currently building a new demo home to display the system’s many qualities.

Bayer builds bridge to young business students
As part of Bayer’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and to promoting science and innovation among young students, Bayer Nordic once again participated in a joint academic-business initiative with 'Cph North', a local business school in the suburb of Lyngby outside Copenhagen.

High level innovation talks in Finland
Finland's Minister of Economic Affairs Mr. Jyri Häkämies met with Senior Bayer Representative for the Country Group Nordic, Mr. Oliver Rittgen and Head of Supply Center Turku Mr. Peter Essen on 23 January to discuss ways to promote innovation & growth.
